Visible planning for children and parents

Kia ora, this is an example of our planning summarized and it is placed on the wall in the classroom with the photo's of the children. This is a great way for parents to visibly see what the children are working towards. Take a look sometime, the next time you come into the centre. Regards Louise

Individual Planning Example

Kia ora Koutou to all our lovely families, we hope you are enjoying the sunshine today and are looking forward to the onset of spring. I am just posting an example of the individual planning we do here for your children. We plan for your children's learning each month in order to keep extending them and catering towards their interests. I have changed the name on this document for privacy reasons, please take a quick read. We believe in parents input into the learning of the children, as parents are the first teachers. If you have any questions please don't hesitate in contacting us.

Healthy Heart topic- August, Teacher Louise

http://www.fuelled4life.org.nz/parents/parents-lunch-boxes Kia ora Koutou Parents, as you all know we as a centre are working on our gaining our 2017 Healthy Heart award. We will love to keep you all updated on what is happening surrounding this topic. Currently we are reinforcing the idea of healthy eating at lunch times, so we encourage the children to eat a staple food first before they eat anything else. As you know we provide a fruit for morning tea and have started giving the children a small staple food to get them through the morning. We may make sandwiches from time to time, we have had scrambled eggs, popcorn etc. We encourage our children to get involved with these experiences as much as possible. We are very proud of preschool community, as many of children come to preschool with healthy and nutritious lunch boxes. I have added a link to a website that may interest some of you. It is called fuelled4life and it talks about different ways in which you can provide healthy food for your children. Take a wee look and see what you think. We would love to hear your feedback.
